How can I fundraise?
There’s loads of great ways to fundraise. Once you’ve signed up to take part, we’ll send you top tips to make your challenge a success.
Here’s a sneak peek to get you started:
- Set up your fundraising page
- Share your page with family and friends. Let them know why you’re taking part.
- Pop a donation in yourself to get the ball rolling
Can I jog, walk or wheel instead of running?
Clock up the miles however suits you! You can make up your 26.2 miles your way, whether that’s one mile at a time, or two half marathons within the month. Pound the pavements, use a treadmill or go cross country - the choice is yours.
You can run, jog, walk or wheel whenever it suits you, but please make sure to stay safe! Plan your routes, wear reflective clothing and let someone know where you’re going.
What’s the best way to count my miles?
This challenge is all about keeping busy and active, so we trust you to be sticking to the distance you challenged yourself to.
Strava is a great app you can use to keep track of your runs. If you choose to use this tool, you may like to use Strava’s Privacy Zones function to hide your start/finish location.
You can connect your JustGiving fundraising page to your Strava account, or manually log your miles on your page to share your progress with friends and family. Watch our videos to find out how:
Can we take part as a team?
Yes, one team, one dream! All you need to do is set up your fundraising page, and then create your team page. If you’re not sure how to do this, check out our handy videos:
If you sign up with a team and want to run together, please make sure you follow all government guidelines and stay safe.
Why should I self-donate?
Fundraisers who donate to their own page raise on average 42% more! Dipping into your own wallet and donating to your own page isn’t cheating - it’s the best way to reach your fundraising target. Your friends and family will soon follow suit…
Can I use Facebook Fundraising?
You’re welcome to fundraise however suits you best. However, if you decide to use Facebook Fundraising, it won’t show up on your JustGiving page and we won’t be able to see how much you’ve raised on Facebook.
How much does it cost?
It’s free to sign up and take part in Run the Month: Marathon Edition. We suggest trying to raise a minimum of £250 to help beat prostate cancer. But you can set your target at whatever you’d like!
